Amrit Khalsa, LMSW

Psychotherapist

Amrit is a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW), practicing under the supervision of Andrea Turnipseed, LCSW-S. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Hampshire College in Massachusetts and a Masters of Science degree in Social Work from the University of Houston. In addition to formal schooling, her practice is shaped by extensive training in Russian Martial Arts (Systema), which uses breath and embodied awareness to work with fear in the body and psyche, towards healing the whole self.

Amrit is invested in supporting clients to navigate the complexities and gifts of all stages of life with compassion and curiosity. With a relational emphasis, she guides sessions using a multidisciplinary, strengths-based approach that honors the client’s experiences alongside the wisdom of their body. Her clinical practice is also influenced by mindfulness, breathwork, motivational interviewing (MI), and psychodynamics. She works with people experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma and PTSD, grief/loss, life transitions, and relational conflict.

Amrit is passionate about making art, roller skating, spending time outside, and bringing humor into every day.

Fees for individual therapy with Amrit are $125 per 50-minute session. To schedule a free 15-minute consultation, please contact amrit@rootsbehavioralhealth.com.
